Deacon Cleo Franks was born on March 6, 1928. He departed this life at the age of 90 on Wednesday, April 11, 2018

Deacon Franks was a charter member and Deacon of the St James Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Nathaniel Dortch, currently pastored by Reverend Keith Moore.

Deacon Franks leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife and caregiver: Annie McSwain Franks; 6 daughters and 2 sons-in-law: Barbara (Ted-deceased) Walker of Long Beach, CA, Linda Franks, Rita (Rev. Gregory) Reese, Towana Franks, Erica Franks, Tara (Kendrick) Mackie; 3 sons: Charles (Margie) McSwain of Livingston, AL, Charles (Pinkie) Franks; Karl (Linda) Franks of Baton Rouge, LA; 3 sisters: one devoted- Ella Mae Walker, Loveda Edwards, and Nancy Franks; 3 brothers: John Franks, Anthony Franks, and Tim (Joann) Franks; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; countless family members and friends.

His remains will lie in state on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 1- 8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at St. James MB Church, 2846 St. James Drive, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL.
