Lugenia H. Handy, a native of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was born on July 14, 1942. She peacefully departed this life for eternity in her home on Sunday, January 14, 2018.

Lugenia was a hard working operator of a local Restaurant - “ Handy’s Hickory House”. She was well known in the downtown business district as a fabulous cook for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her son: Pomonda Handy; two sisters-in-law: Betty (Johnny) Handy and Alberta Handy.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted family – husband: Johnny Handy; four daughters: Viamateesee (Richard) Mosley, Rochelle (Nathaniel) Carter, Zozelda (Vincent) Cox, Ashauntai (Phillip) Evans all of Mobile, Alabama; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 1pm until the 2pm funeral hour in Small’s Mortuary Chapel, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Gethsemane North Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
